Quick screen capture of the best images (straight out of the camera)

I think I have improved a lot since the last event I shot: it’s amazing what good advice, careful research, encouragement, self-confidence and a couple of GOOD lenses can do for one who does her best to pay attention and learn from it all.

I still have a lot to learn around how to manipulate how light enters my camera with less trial and error, and greater success. Too many of my photos were disappointingly blurred, noisy, or out of focus (I am still not convinced my camera doesn’t need servicing, but let’s call that a lame excuse for now).

The album has quick screen shots of the best images of the day – the one that are “perfect enough” to be shared as-is. It’ll probably take me months to get around to paring down the whole collection, and editing the ones worth keeping. Good thing I made no promises as to timing!

Feel free to leave comments on the photos.

I was a guest only, this time, but that never stops me from taking my camera!

Sunday morning

Filed under: idiot!, school — Tags: , , , — pistachoo @ 10:38

Never check work email on the weekend. I knew this. I know this. Yet I continue to do it.

Hi Mme LaNoix,
Would you be availabel Monday or Tuesday after school to review Elsie’s report card with Dick & I.
Thanks
Irma

I just checked: her grades are the same as, or better than, last term. So likely these people just need the usual hand holding and will want to waste an hour of my time so that I can repeat everything already mentioned during the goal setting CONFERENCE THAT WE ALREADY HAD A MONTH AGO!!

ARRRGGH!!

One thing is for sure: I am *not* responding until Monday morning, 8 am. This is my weekend—office hours are closed.

I am so tired of parents wanting to “discuss” the report cards. There is nothing to say that is not already in the report. Unless the child is getting a  C-, I am not phoning home. HOW can we get the message through to these people?

C    = Satisfactory
C+ = Good
B    = Very good
A    = Oh my gosh, blow-me-away fantastic!

It’s not rocket science, after all.

Is it my problem if the idiot parents want to consider a B as satisfactory and every thing else as intolerable drivel? That is THEIR set of expectations. Not mine, nor the Ministry’s.

@#$% !!!

Ucluelet

Nothing like spending a weekend on Vancouver Island to make you doubt the existence of Spring!

Still, the magic of the West Coast is that it is beautiful no matter what the weather. Click on the photo to see the rest of the album.
